How to Cover a Round Table With Butcher Paper

If you are planning to throw a party, you may want to use a paper table cover instead of cloth. This can come in handy if most of the guests at your party are children. There’s no need to buy specialty paper covers when you can use large butcher paper. This kind of paper is readily available and requires little preparation before applying it to the table.

Things You'll Need:

  • Tape Measure
  • Scissors
  • Thumbtack
  • String

Measure the width of the table across its widest part with a tape measure and divide that number in half. Multiply the result by 3.14 to determine the table's diameter.

Measure a length of string equal to the diameter of the table and cut it with the scissors. Tie one end of the string to the sharp end of a pencil.

Use a thumbtack to secure the other end of the string to the center of your butcher paper.

Pull the pencil to one side so the string is taut and move the pencil around the paper, drawing a circle as you go.

Remove the string and thumbtack from the paper.

Cut the circle out of the paper with the scissors and place it over the round table.

Tip

Use butcher paper that is at least as wide as the table you intend to place it over. You may have to purchase this paper from a restaurant or kitchen supply store.

Use masking tape to secure the butcher paper to the table.
