On a hot summer day, few things taste better than ice cream. Not everyone likes to eat ice cream in the same way, however. Some people prefer ice cream cones, ice cream in a dish or an ice cream sundae. Try some of these ice-cream-eating tips the next time you get the craving for your favorite flavor.

From Quick Guide: Ultimate Ice Cream Guide
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Eat ice cream in a cone. Choose the type of cone you wish to have. You can select a cake cone, a sugar cone or a waffle cone. Put a scoop (or two) into the ice cream cone of your choice and then enjoy. Eat the ice cream quickly if it's hot outside to minimize melting. Make sure that you have plenty of napkins handy.

  2. Step 2

Go simple and eat ice cream with a spoon out of a bowl. Select a foam container, a china bowl or even a waffle bowl. Add toppings, such as sprinkles or other candies, if you want to get a little more exciting.

  3. Step 3

Make an ice cream sundae. Place ice cream into a bowl and then add your toppings. Hot fudge, caramel sauce or chocolate sauce all make good sundaes. Don't forget to add the whipped cream, the cherry and the chopped nuts.

  4. Step 4

Enjoy a banana split. This decadent ice cream treat usually consists of three scoops of ice cream, various ice cream sauces, a split banana, whipped cream, chopped nuts and a cherry. This is one ice cream dish you will want to share, but you don't have to.

Tips & Warnings
  • Take small bites when eating ice cream with a spoon to avoid getting overly messy.
  • When eating ice cream with a spoon, consider putting the spoon of ice cream in your mouth upside down. This allows the ice cream and not the spoon itself to come in contact with your tongue first. Ice cream tastes better that way.
