Things You'll Need:
- "Happy Heart Day" Stampin Up! Stamp set
- Card stock, Whisper White, Going Gray and Purely Pomegranate
- Paper cutter (or scissors)
- Magenta stickles (it's like glitter glue)
- Self-adhesive pink rhinestones
- Double-sided tape or glue
- Small watercolor paintbrush
- Ink pads in black and sage shadow (like a moss green)
- Small watercolor brush
- Bone folder
-
Step 1
Cut a square of Whisper White card stock that is about 3.5 inches on each side. Stamp the elephant onto this square using black ink.
-
Step 2
Color the elephant gray. You can just use a marker, but if you want a watercolor effect, there are several ways to go about it. You can outline the elephant with a watercolor pencil and use a blender pen, aqua painter, or wet watercolor brush to pull color where desired. If you don't have a watercolor pencil, try pressing the closed lid of the black stamp pad down against the ink pad, so that there will be some color on the inside of the lid. Open the lid, and then use a damp watercolor brush (or aquapainter) to lift the ink from the lid and apply it to the elephant.
-
Step 3
Use the same watercolor technique with the Sage Shadow stamp pad for the blades of grass and the leaves of the flowers.
-
Step 4
Use the magenta stickles for the flowers.
-
Step 5
Take a piece of Going Gray card stock and cut it in half, so you will have two pieces that are 8.5-by-5.5 inches. One of these pieces will be your card. You can save the other piece for another project. Fold the piece you are going to use in half, using the bone folder for the crease.
-
Step 6
Cut a square of Purely Pomegranate card stock that is 3.5 inches on each side.
-
Step 7
Use double-sided tape or glue to affix the Purely Pomegranate square at an angle on what will be the front of your card as shown in the photo.
-
Step 8
Use double-sided tape or glue to affix the white square with the elephant on it on top of the Purely Pomegranate square as shown in the photo.
-
Step 9
Affix a self-adhesive pink rhinestone to each of the 4 corners of the card.
-
Step 10
Use the "thank you" stamp from this stamp set to stamp "thank you" on the inside of the card.
