Comic strips are fun ways for people to read stories. Unlike novels, comic strips have a visual medium. This means that they do not particularly need to use words to tell a story. The pictures alone can tell the story.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Understand that comics are highly visual. They do not require a lot of words to tell a story because the graphic pictures are usually able to stand alone and tell the story without words.

  2. Step 2

Create the comic pictures so they explode off of the page. Do this by including a lot of color, a lot of over emphasis on the main features of the picture or slide, exaggeration of figures and a lot of detail.

  3. Step 3

Be expressive in the pictures. Include a lot of information and detail in picture form.

  4. Step 4

Add words as needed. Remember that comics are mainly visual, so a lot of words are unnecessarily. The picture should be able to stand alone and tell the story. This is how you create an explosive visual medium in comic strips or pictures.

  5. Step 5

Show them to another person to see if they can determine the storyline by looking at the pictures. If they are able to tell a story by looking at the pictures, then you have successfully made a comic into a perfect visual medium.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can never over emphasize too much in a comic, so do not be afraid of adding too much when creating your picture.
