    Instructions

      • 1

Decide what memorabilia to include. Consider the wedding invitation, garter, dried flowers from the bouquet, party favors and a selection of favorite photos.

      • 2

Select a shadow box frame to accommodate the items. Stores like Michaels, Jo-Ann Fabrics and Crafts, Target and Wal-Mart sell pre-made shadow box frames. You can also check specialty scrapbooking, stamping or framing shops.

      • 3

Remove the backing from the frame. Cover it with a decorative material to add color and texture. Try crumpled tissue, cardstock, patterned paper, fabric or a collage of duplicate photos from the wedding. Adhere the material with a photo-safe adhesive like double-stick tape or spray mount designed for scrapbooking.

      • 4

Arrange the items until you're satisfied with the look.

      • 5

Adhere the items with double-stick tape, adhesive dots or straight pins. Add more dimension to some items by affixing with foam tape and stacking several layers to get the height you desire.

      • 6

Adorn the project with decorative touches like paper flowers, buttons or dimensional stickers. Purchase photo-safe embellishments at scrapbooking retailers or in the memory book section of crafts and chain stores like Michaels and Target.

      • 7

Place the backing in the frame, secure it with the attached photo turns or clips and display. Hang the keepsake on your wall, sit it on a bookshelf or showcase the shadow box on a cookbook or plate stand.

    Tips & Warnings

    • Using any materials, like the frame, adhesives, accents and paper, that are not archival safe will speed the deterioration of pictures and memorabilia. Never use irreplaceable or heirloom images. Use duplicate photos and preserve the originals in a safe place, stored in photo-safe sleeves or boxes and away from harmful UV rays.
