There is nothing quite as precious as a little flower girl in a wedding wearing a floral head wreath. Many brides also decide to wear a head wreath, decorated with the same flowers as their bouquet. You can make your own head wreaths to match the bride or bridesmaids and save money at the same time. Here are some tips to help you make a floral head wreath.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Measure the head to determine how long the head wreath needs to be to fit snugly. Cut two pieces of floral wire about 6 inches longer than the circumference of the head. Twist the two long pieces of floral wire together.

  2. Step 2

Cover the twisted wires with your choice of greenery; ivy is a perfect choice for most. Blend two pieces of ivy together to achieve a fuller effect and wrap the ivy around the twisted wire. Leave about 3 inches of wire exposed at either end to make a hook and eye to connect the ends of the head wreath. Secure the ivy to the twisted wire with florist tape; make sure you don't tape over leaves.

  3. Step 3

Make a hook on one end of the ivy-covered wreath by twisting the wire into the shape of a hook. Take care that no pointed wire is exposed or will rub the head. Next, make a loop on the other end of the exposed wire. Simply twist the wire into a loop. When the head wreath is finished, the hook and loop are connected so the wreath fits securely on the head.

  4. Step 4

Add the flowers to the head wreath. Most brides prefer that the flowers used on the head wreath match the flowers for the wedding bouquet. If the brides' bouquet has roses, use miniature roses of the same color for the head wreath. Attach the first flower in the center of the head wreath using florist tape. Place another flower on either side of the center flower and continue until you have the amount of flowers you want. Baby's breath can be placed between the flowers for a traditional effect.

  5. Step 5

Measure the drop distance from the head wreath to the shoulders. If the drop is 12 inches, cut a length of matching ribbon 24 inches long. Fold the ribbon in half and form a loop at the fold. Hold the loop to the head wreath and pull the cut ends through the loop, circling the head wreath.
