How to Wear a Lariat Necklace Creatively

Lariat necklaces can be worn in many ways because their length is adjustable.

A lariat necklace is long and made with a variety of beads and gemstones such as semi-precious stones, glass, crystal, wood or shell beads. This style of necklace can be worn creatively due to the lack of clasp and set length. It is long enough to wrap multiple times around your neck and gives you the option of wearing it long or short according to your outfit and other accessories.

Instructions

1. Wear the lariat necklace like a scarf by wrapping it around your neck. You may be able to wrap it around two or even three times. You may leave the wraps loose and low or high up on your neck like a choker. Each wrap can be a different length to appear like a multi-strand necklace.

2. Tie the lariat necklace in a knot if the beads or stones it is made with permit this. This works well with lariats made with smaller beads or shells. The knot may be any style of knot you are familiar with and can be placed high towards your neck or low over your shirt.

3. Combine the previous two steps to make a creative style. Wrap the lariat around your neck twice and tie the remaining length of strands into a knot.

4. Combine the lariat necklace with other jewelry to create a different look. You may wear the lariat in any style you choose and coordinate another long or short necklace with your lariat. For instance, wear a choker-style necklace and then wrap your lariat around your neck in long, loose wraps.

5. Wear the lariat as a belt by wrapping it around your waist when wearing a dress or loop it through your belt loop. Tie it in a knot in the front or side of your waist.
