Recycle your old newspapers and turn them into fire starters. Use them to fuel your fire this winter.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Newspaper
  • Wire for binding your log. You can use fine gauge wire or a piece of old coat hanger

How to Turn Your Newspaper Into a Fire Brick

  1. Step 1

    Get your newspaper out.

  2. Step 2

Use your spray bottle to dampen the newspaper.

  3. Step 3

Place dampened newspaper into your fire brick maker.

  4. Step 4

Push handles of brick maker down to form your brick.

  5. Step 5

    Let dry.

  6. Step 6

    Remove from brick maker.

  7. How to Make a Firelog/Fire Starter

  8. Step 1

Start with a section. If your newspaper is extremely large, you may want to divide the section into two or three separate parts. It just depends on how thick you want your fire log/fire starter.

  9. Step 2

Unfold your section. Starting longways, start rolling up the newspaper into a log shape.

  10. Step 3

Once your log is complete, fasten with wire. You may want to fasten in the middle or near both ends.

  11. Step 4

You're ready to light a fire. I would suggest that you use firewood as well. Place your fire log amongst your wood and light it up! Once you're done, you can fish out the wire and reuse it.
