1
Cut off the top of a cardboard milk carton. Take the wick and wrap one end around the depressor twice, then feed the rest of the wick down to the botton, suspending the wick. Then you can fill the carton with candle wax, and cut the carton off once the wax is completely dry.

Use glasses to make unique pillar candles. Place the wooden tongue depressor on the top of the glass, with the wick dangling down the center of the glass, and pour beeswax into the glass. Beeswax is the best wax to use, as it has a lower melting point and will not break your glass candle mold.

Make a candle mold out of sand. Place sand in a large pan and add water to the sand to make it malleable. Use a bowl to make an impression in the sand and fill that impression with wax. As the wax cools, insert the wick, and let the candle dry inside its mold of sand.

Turn a vase into a candle mold for a large pillar candle. Use a vase with a flat base, and suspend the wick with the tongue depressor from the top, and pour in your wax. Again, it is best to use beeswax with glass candle molds.

Can your molds with fruit and preserve canning supplies. Many candles out on the market today are jar candles. Make your own jar candles with preserve jars and strong wicks.
