Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Place two identically sized baby bibs together with the decorative sides facing each other. Fasten each bib as if it's around a baby's neck.

  2. Step 2

Slip a wire coat hanger in between the top part of the bibs before stitching around the edges to make a purse that has a handle. Sew in a straightened wire hanger along the inside edge for a more structured bag.

  3. Step 3

Stitch all along the outside edges of the bibs with the sewing machine and a complimentary color of thread. Snip the thread with scissors from the bibs once they are completely sewn together.

  4. Step 4

Turn right side out. Line up the neck area of the bibs to create a purse handle. Cut and sew smaller pieces of material to the inside or outside of the bag to make pockets.

Tips & Warnings
  • Vinyl backed bibs make good purses for storing wet things. When using thin cloth bibs, consider sewing in an extra lining of material for a sturdier, more opaque look.
  • Bags may be embellished with any kind of decorative elements that can be stitched on the outside of the purse.
