Having an afternoon of art w/your young child is easy and fun. It doesn't require much, except a lot of TLC and patience.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Drinking Straw
  • Hot Glue Gun,a/glue
  • Normal Child-safe Glue
  • Construction Paper or any paper (it should be stiff, cereal box paper will work)
  • Child-safe paints or Markers or Crayons
  • Glitter
Step1
Sail Trace the pattern of the Hull and Sail onto your construction paper or cardboard.

If you are using brown cardboard, glue the printed out Hull and Sail directly onto the cardboard). (See images Step 1 and Step 2)
Step2
Hull Cut out the sail and hull.
Step3
Let the kids either paint or color the Hull and the Sail.
Step4
Notice the notches for secure position. Assemble.

Hot glue the Sail and the Hull onto the Straw. Fold over the notches for extra secure position.

Careful w/the kids and the hot glue gun.
Step5
Decorated Boat w/Glitter Prop up the boats on the back of the coach or in a window.

Your kids will beam with pride.
Step6
Decorate the boat w/glitter.

Write their name or stars, whatever they like in glue and allow them to shake the glitter onto the boat.

You can save the glitter that doesn't stick by placing newspaper under the boat before decorating. Put the extra glitter into an empty spice shaker for future use. It works great.

Tips & Warnings

  • Precut the pieces before you begin the activity w/your kids. You will thank me later.
  • Don't allow the kids to help with the hot glue gun.
