Baby leg warmers are a great way to keep your baby's legs warm when they are in just a diaper. They are great during diaper changes because there are no snaps or buttons to work with. They can be made cheaply and quickly.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • adult-sized knee socks
  • scissors
  • sewing machine or needle and thread
  1. Step 1

    Purchase adult-sized knee socks.

  2. Step 2

Cut off each sock right above the ankle. The top of the sock will become the top of the leg warmer.

  3. Step 3

Cut off the toe and the heel of the foot of the sock. You should have a band of fabric.

  4. Step 4

Fold the band of fabric over, with the wrong sides together. This will give you a smaller band with one end that is folded and the other end that is raw.

  5. Step 5

Line the raw end of the small band up with the raw end of the bottom of the long part of the sock.

  6. Step 6

Place the right sides together. Pin them in place.

  7. Step 7

Sew around the open edges with either a sewing machine or by hand. When finished, fold the band over. The seam you just sewed will be inside.

Tips & Warnings
  • Put a can or bottle in the middle to slightly stretch all the fabric. This will make it easier to pin the band to the main part of the sock.
  • Make sure to remove all pins before using the baby leg warmers!

on 4/7/2009 These baby leg warmers sound really cute. Save the foot of the sock to use for dusting and polishing chores.
