The holidays are here. Time to "Deck the Halls." With that comes untangling the lights. That task alone can be a downer to the festivities.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Last year's Christmas lights
  1. Step 1

Lay strands of lights, on the floor, table or other work site that is in front of you.

  2. Step 2

Taking a free end start unwinding through the strands of lights, loosen knots as you go. Be careful not to be forceful or rush, as to not break any bulbs.

  3. Step 3

As a strand becomes untangled, keep it away from the other strands. This will prevent the strand from becoming tangled again.

  4. Step 4

Once one strand is completely detangled, plug it into an electrical socket to check for any shortage in the strands, and also to make sure all the bulbs work before stringing the lights on the tree.

Tips & Warnings
  • have some patience
  • don't pull big knots.
