How to Make Lip Gloss at Home
Lip gloss is used to give lips luster and sometimes a bit of color. While there are a range of lip glosses available, from the inexpensive to name brands running $10 or more each, making your own can be enjoyable and simple. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- Cranberry lip gloss:
- 1 tablespoon sweet almond oil
- 10 fresh cranberries
- 1 teaspoon honey
- Honey citrus lip gloss:
- 7 to 8 teaspoons sweet almond oil
- 2 teaspoons beeswax
- 1 vitamin E capsule
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 5 drops citrus flavoring or essential oil
- Microwave-safe container with lid
- Cosmetic/balm container with lid

Cranberry Lip Gloss

Mix all of the ingredients in a microwave for two minutes or until the mixture just begins to boil.

Stir well and gently crush the berries.

Strain through a fine sieve to remove the fruit pieces.

Pour into a small container and let cool before use.
Honey Citrus Lip Gloss

Melt the sweet almond oil and beeswax together in the microwave safe container for one to two minutes.

Pierce the vitamin E capsule with a pin or tip of a knife and squirt it into mixture.

Whisk the honey and flavoring or essential oil into the mixture, continuing until set. Spoon your new lip gloss into a small, balm container with tight lid.

Spoon your new lip gloss into a small balm container with a tight lid for use.

Tips & Warnings
You can use Vaseline instead of beeswax, which helps the lips more.
