How to Make Sparkling Christmas Candles

Combine plain pillar candles with decorative studs for a pretty Christmas decoration or unique gift giving.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• Tracing paper (optional)
• Pillar candles, mix of sizes and colors.
• Gold studs, or other decorative studs/beads.

1. 
   Gold-Studded Snowflake Candles

   Select a design for your candle. Try snowflakes, diamonds, stars, or create a design of your own.

2. I did this craft without tracing paper. If your design is more detailed it's recommended you use tracing paper. Fold 4-1/2-inch square of tracing paper in half. Align fold with dotted line on pattern, left; trace. Turn folded tracing paper over and trace pattern on opposite side of fold; unfold.

3. Center the pattern on candle and tape.

4. With needle, make a small hole in the center of each paper circle and a light indentation on the candle. Remove pattern and press 3/8-inch and 1/4-inch studs into appropriate positions as shown on pattern.

Tips & Warnings

• Use metallic paint markers to enhance snowflake designs, by drawings lines from stud to stud.
• Add a bow around a set of three as a small center piece or gift.
• Candle Alternatives - A safety tip with candles is to try realistic flameless candles readily available. Many are scented.
