How to Force Cards with Regular Decks

  1. Step 1

Shuffle or cut the deck a few times.

  2. Step 2

Memorize a card from the deck and shuffle/cut it to the top. It is easiest to use the bottom card of the deck.

  3. Step 3

Cut the deck in half and ask the spectator to touch one of the halves.

  4. Step 4

You need to use the half containing the memorized card, so if she touches that top half, respond by saying that you will use that particular half. If she touches the bottom half, respond by saying that half will be put away.

  5. Step 5

Using only the top half, shuffle and cut in a way that again gets that memorized card on top.

  6. Step 6

Offer the top card. After all, you just shuffled and cut right in front of her eyes. She will not be suspicious.

  7. Step 7

If you feel funny offering the top card, spread the cards across your hands and ask her to choose one. While doing so, press the memorized card out a bit, which will subliminally suggest her to choose it. If she picks another card, perform a different trick.
