Want to save money and use up all those silly film canisters we have collected before the age of digital cameras? This is a very kid friendly craft and good for adults, too.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Film canisters
  • Curling Ribbon
  • Decorative papers
  • Stickers
  • Unpopped popcorn
  • Glue
  • Glitter
  1. Step 1

Clean your film canisters of any oily residue and let dry completely.

  2. Step 2

Fill the canister halfway up with the unpopped popcorn kernels.

  3. Step 3

Poke a hole in the top of the canister lid and thread curling ribbon through.

  4. Step 4

Tie a knot in the ends of the curling ribbon to hold in place on inside of lid.

  5. Step 5

Attach lid to canister with glue so lid doesn't come off.

  6. Step 6

Glue decorative papers to the canister and add stickers and glitter.

  7. Step 7

You are now ready to shake your noisemakers to ring in the New Year!

Tips & Warnings
  • Parents should poke the hole in the canister lids so kids don't get hurt.
  • If you don't glue the lid onto the canister then tape it on really well or you'll have popcorn all over the house.
