Like any television show, "CSI Miami" has seen good times and bad. Although there are critics out there who would pan the show as ridiculous and ludicrous, "CSI Miami" does have its redeeming—if not endearing—qualities. If you're a fan of "CSI Miami," and you'd like to be able to tune in each week without giggling and snickering so you can appreciate its finer points, then these tips are for you.

1. Put yourself in the victim's shoes. If you were the murder victim on "CSI Miami," you wouldn't be laughing or having super-happy-fun time, because you'd be dead. And that's not funny.
2. Put yourself in the criminal's shoes. If you were a criminal in Miami, you wouldn't be laughing either. Horatio Caine would make sure of that.
3. Put yourself in the investigators' shoes. The hours are long, the work is hard, the clothes are ridiculous and you work with Horatio Caine. Your life isn't exactly awesome. Are you still laughing?
4. Recognize Horatio's clichés as the pearls of wisdom they are. It's like having a tub of fortune cookies at your disposal every Monday night. Horatio's wisdom might just win you the lottery, maybe even help you find your soul mate. And that's nothing to laugh at.
5. Give Horatio some credit. Horatio Caine means business, and if you're not going to take his business seriously, then he won't be doing business with you. Nobody wants that. Horatio doesn't ask much. Giving him some credit for cleaning up Miami's mean streets is the least you can do.
