1
Cover work area with newspaper. Make sure the newspaper is several layers thick.
-
2
Put coffee filter on newspaper. Use markers to color coffee filter.
-
-
3
Spritz coffee filter with water. Colors will start to blend. If more blending is desired, spritz on more water.
-
4
Let coffee filter dry on newspaper.

5
When filter is dry, fold it in half and then fold in half again. The filter will be shaped like a triangle. The top of the flower is where the edges are. Tape pipe cleaner to bottom of filter (where the point is) to make a stem.
-
6
Separate the top of the flower into layers, making the flower look like a carnation.
-
7
Put flower in a vase and enjoy.
-
8
Repeat to create more flowers. Use different color combinations to create a rainbow of color in the bouquet.

Tips & Warnings
Be careful when spritzing coffee filters. If you apply too much water, the colors will all run together, ruining the multi-color effect. It is easy to spritz on more water, but nearly impossible to remove the water once it is absorbed by the coffee filter.
