How to Make Liquid Glitter. Liquid glitter is a great item to keep for anyone who makes craft projects. Use liquid glitter in paper crafts, body painting, hair art and any number of other projects. Liquid glitter is simple to make and costs much less than buying it from the store. It takes 3 to 5 minutes to make a jar of liquid glitter.

Step 1

Purchase your supplies. Find glycerin at a pharmacy or a department store with a health and beauty department.

Mix 1/4 tsp. glycerin and 1 drop water in a bowl or small container. Stir the mixture until the water is completely blended with the glycerin.

Mix in the glitter. Stir the glycerin as you mix. The amount of glitter you use depends on how thick you want the liquid glitter to be. The more glitter you add, the thicker the liquid glitter will be. Add different colors together to make your own glitter combination. Continue stirring until the glitter is well-blended into the glycerin.

Pour the mix into the storage container or bottle. Use the glitter right away. If you want to store it for later use, place a lid on the storage container or bottle. Shake the container or bottle well before the next use. Over time, the glitter settles to the bottom of the container.

Tip

Another storage option is to keep the glitter in a spray bottle. This allows you to spray glitter onto your project or body.
