How to Make a Tidy Trunk for Father's Day
Dad's trunk isn't always the most organized area. Let's face it, when he's driving you to soccer games, the mall, violin practice and even making his occasional trip to the gym, his car collects a lot of extras. Help dad keep his--and your--items organized in his trunk.

1
Find a large heavy duty cardboard box. Check at your local grocery, appliance or office supply store. Make sure the box is sturdy, if it has top flaps or a lid, remove them first.
-
2
Let your kids decorate the box with markers. Suggest messages to dad and plenty of "love." Cover with fabric in dad's favorite color, sports motiff or emblems from hobbies.
-
-
3
Use a craft knife to cut two holes 4 to 6 inches apart on each end of the box. Cut 2 pieces of heavy duty rope 24 inches long.
-
4
Push ends into the holes in the box. Tie knots on each end inside the box to secure the rope for handles.
-
5
Take the time to organize dad's trunk using the homemade organizer. Add special supplies like car fresheners and car size trash bags.

Tips & Warnings
This gift is best if put in place ahead of time. Dad will appreciate his trunk organizer a lot more if it is already in place and filled when he gets it.
If your family isn't creative, or doesn't have time, a simple box, plastic container or even a trunk tote can be purchased to put in the trunk. It's the thought that counts and dad's trunk is organized.
