    Instructions

    Things You'll Need

    • Toilet paper roll tube
    • 50-70 newborn-size diapers
    • Hot glue gun
    • Straight pins
    • 3 yards 2-inch wide colored ribbon
    • Assorted small baby items
    • Small plush toy
      • 1

Make a base for the bottom layer of diapers. Use something to which you can glue the first diaper, such as a toilet paper roll. Attach the first diaper to the base with hot glue.

      • 2

Hold the base steady and as you overlap and very tightly pack each diaper to the base, one at a time, with the folded ends facing out. Make sure at least one inch of each diaper is showing.

      • 3

Use straight pins to help keep diapers attached and tight.

      • 4

When all diapers are positioned, tightly wrap ribbon around the middle of the layer and secure it with both hot glue and straight pins.

      • 5

Roll up one diaper and use it as a base for the second layer. Glue the first diaper to the base with the folded end facing out.

      • 6

Build the second layer in the same way, tightly packing each diaper in and using straight pins and glue for security. Show at least two inches of each diaper. The radius of the second layer should be about three inches smaller than the bottom layer.

      • 7

Tightly wrap ribbon around the middle of the layer when all of the diapers are in position. Secure the layer with both hot glue and straight pins.

      • 8

Put the second layer on top of the bottom layer. Make a simple bow from the extra ribbon and hot glue it to the second layer.

      • 9

Using straight pins and small amounts of hot glue, attach baby items and to the cake. Place the plush toy on top and secure it with straight pins.

    Tips & Warnings

    • For the first layer of diapers, you may also need an extra set of hands to keep the base tight.
