Things You'll Need:
- Ruler and pencil
- Card stock or construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Artwork from the kids
-
Step 1
These directions are for a 4 x 6-inch card (which fits nicely into a store-bought envelope), but you can of course adjust the dimensions to any size you like. While you do the following instructions, give your kids each a sheet of construction paper or card stock to color on. Best to give the kids a different color page than the one you are using.
-
Step 2
Using the ruler and pencil, trace an 8 x 6-inch rectangle onto your card stock or paper and cut it out. Fold in half so your card is now
4 x 6-inches. -
Step 3
On one half of the inside of your card, use your ruler and trace a rectangle with the dimensions of 3 x 5-inches. Cut out the center of the rectangle. This is the hardest part of this project.
-
Step 4
Are the kids finished with the art work yet? When they are, cut their art into a 4 x 6-inch rectangle. Use the glue stick to glue it to the inside of the card on the half that has the cut out rectangle. Make sure the art is face down, so you can see it through the window on the other side.
-
Step 5
Let the card set for about an hour for the glue to dry. Once dry, you or your kids can write a special message on the inside. Can do something sweet like:
We made this card especially for you, with love, from Kayden and Kendra too.
