Step 1
Know the type of vehicle that you are going to buy the telescopic mirrors for, so that you'll know where to make your purchase. When buying for a car, it is best to buy directly from the parts department of a like dealership. The same applies for pickup trucks. In addition, to auto dealerships, you should be able to buy telescopic side mirrors in most auto parts stores, by asking for telescopic side mirrors to fit what ever vehicle it is that you have. There are also auto parts stores that sell generic type telescopic side mirrors that work for most vehicles in the normal car size range.

Step 2
Find telescopic side mirrors for the larger trucks known as semis or 18 wheelers by shopping at dealerships that specialize in selling those large trucks. In addition, there are truck stops all over the country that have inexpensive telescopic mirrors that will fit these trucks. The same telescopic mirrors that go on a Chevrolet Impala are going to be too small to fit on a semi truck. These trucks are large and need their mirrors to be in relevance to their size.

Step 3
Pick your telescopic mirrors for an RV at an RV dealership or rental company, a large truck supply, auto supply or travel stop type store. RVs are large vehicles, long in length, often like a semi truck, so you can shop at some of the same type locations for mirror supplies.

Step 4
Get the most for your money when buying the telescopic side mirrors. If you shop ahead of time and do your price comparisons, you should be able to buy some of the telescopic side mirrors for anywhere from $5.00 to $15.00 if these are attached onto existing mirrors. However, if you are buying telescopic side mirrors that are attached separately as a second mirror along side of the original side mirrors, the prices will be considerably higher.
