This photo booth design is similar to those you see in malls, carnivals and fairs. The difference is that it uses digital technology to create photos for the users. This type of photo booths is good for activities like dances, carnivals or other large gatherings.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

6 1/4-inch sheets of plywood cut 4-by-6 feet
Wood screws
Screwdriver
Molding
Jig saw
Computer
User interface/controller
Photoboof software for Windows/Isight software for Macs
Digital camera with USB remote control capacity
Table or shelf
2 hinges
Swivel eye hasp
Padlock
Curtain and curtain rod
Bench or stool

Step 1

Build the frame for the photo booth with the plywood sheets. Attach 2 sheets of plywood to the edge of one of the other sheets to create a 3-sided box. Screw wood screws into the sides to attach the sheets together.
Step 2

Attach molding around the top, corners and edges of the outside of the plywood. This holds the plywood together better to make the photo booth more sturdy.
Step 3

Screw 1 plywood sheet to the molding on one side to make an 8-foot wide wall. Attach molding around that piece of plywood and add another sheet of plywood for the back. The back needs to be at a 90-degree angle from the existing piece.
Step 4

Cut holes in the last sheet of plywood for the camera, monitor and printer station. Add hinges to the molding in the center of the 8-foot wall. Hang the cut sheet of plywood from the hinges. Add this plywood to the molding, halfway across the wall.
Step 5

Hang the curtain and the curtain rod in the doorway of the photo booth.
Step 6

Place the table or shelf behind the hinged door. Put the computer, camera and printer in their spaces.
Step 7

Purchase program software called Photoboof. It allows the camera to automatically download and print photo booth pictures. Program it to line the photos down the page like traditional photo booth photos, or to print 4 2-by-2 inch pictures on a grid. Isight software is for use with Mac computers and has similar capabilities.
Step 8

Attach the USB remote interface/controller to the PC. Connect the camera to the PC with the USB cord. Connect the printer to the PC. Add photo quality paper to the printer. Place the remote control into one of the pre-cut holes and connect the power to the components.
Step 9

Slide the plywood door shut. Attach the swivel eye hasp to the door and the frame. Add the padlock to protect the valuables.
Step 10

Place the stool or bench across from the camera.
