How to Create A Sexy Halloween Costume On A Shoestring Budget

Want a sexy costume for this year's Halloween party? You don't have to spend $50 or $100 on a packaged costume and props! Odds are you already own almost everything you need to be a hot little vixen on October 31. All you need to do is raid your closet and drawers to find the major components of these costumes. Once you have the big pieces, the outfit is basically complete! But for a little more fun and authenticity, you can add some inexpensive props, too.

1. Naughty School Girl: Start with a plain white button down blouse or shirt, and open the buttons to reveal your cleavage. (For extra spice, make sure a bit of your lace bra peeps out.) Add a short plaid skirt. If you don't own a short skirt, you can temporarily shorten one with some hemming tape. A plain gray skirt could also work with this outfit. Finish it off with some white ankle socks and a pair of black Mary Jane shoes (or ballet flats). Inexpensive accessories include ribbons for your hair or a lollipop.
2. Sexy Secretary: If you already work in a corporate environment, this costume should be easy to create. Simply choose your most form fitting business suit (shorten the skirt to daring lengths with temporary hemming tape). Unbutton your shirt to reveal as much cleavage as you'd like. Add thigh high stockings, a garter belt and high-heeled shoes to finish the look. Extra props include a pair of glasses and a yellow legal pad.
3. Nasty Nurse: A simple white shirt dress can easily be transformed into a nurse's uniform. If you don't own one, try a fitted white pencil skirt and a fitted white shirt. White stockings and white high heels are a must with this sexy costume. Make yourself a nametag from cardboard. Accessories will definitely enhance this outfit, and you may be able to obtain some for free if you know a friend in the medical field. Ask to borrow a stethoscope, a face mask and/or rubber gloves.
4. Dirty Cop: Pair a short navy pencil skirt with a light blue cotton button-up shirt. (Again, temporarily shorten the skirt with hemming tape to show off some leg). Black thigh high stockings, a garter belt, and some high heeled black shoes will add to the sex appeal of this outfit. Extra props can be purchased for a low price at a Dollar Store or toy store (unless you want something more authentic!). Odds are you can find a badge and toy handcuffs for just a few bucks.
