Dollhousing is a hobby that many people enjoy. This hobby can also be a great family activity offering hours of quality time together. Part of that time can be spent making your own items for the dollhouse. This is especially helpful if your dollhouse will be for play rather than display. One item that you can make is a tablecloth for your dollhouse.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Dollhouse table
  • Plastic wrap
  • Small piece of fabric
  • Hairspray

Step1
Cover your dollhouse table with plastic wrap.
Step2
Place a scrap piece of fabric on the dollhouse table. Cut the fabric to fit the table as needed. You can make the dollhouse tablecloth long or short, depending on how much fabric you have.
Step3
Spray the tablecloth with hairspray until the fabric becomes damp.
Step4
Mold the cloth to fit the shape of the table and let it dry.
Step5
Find the perfect spot in your miniature dollhouse to place the table and decorate it with the new tablecloth.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be sure to put your miniature dollhouse tablecloth out of reach of pets and children so that it doesn't get harmed during the drying process.
  • It is helpful to know what kind of dollhouse you are thinking of before you begin to decorate. If you are making a play type dollhouse you want items that can be handled frequently and not worry about losing pieces or breaking items. If you want a display dollhouse then you can look into putting more delicate and expensive items in your house.
  • If you have young children who put items in their mouths be sure to put the dollhouse in an area that is out of reach. The dollhouse miniatures can be choking hazards.
