How to Use Twist-On Wire Connectors
Many connections made in the wiring of a house or workshop utilize wire nuts. These twist-on connectors attach multiple wires together. They come in various sizes for different jobs, and are simple to use. Does this Spark an idea?

Separate the wires that are to be tied together.

Strip approximately ¼-inch to 3/8-inch of insulation off each wire. This should be enough to fit into the wire connector.

Insert all the wires into the center of the connector.

Twist the connector around the wires until they bottom out in the connector.

Check to make sure each wire is securely in place and will not pull out when tugging on the wire.

Tips & Warnings
Be especially careful of the connections that you make. It is possible for the wires to appear connected, when there is a loose wire in the connector.

THANKS -- I had a loose ground wire and a box full of wire connectors. I had tried to put the two wires together and pinch the connector together with a pliers. I didn't realize they were twist on connectors. I really appreciate the very basic information that is sometimes buried where I never seem to find it -
