Ice sculptures are an inexpensive yet beautiful way to decorate for a party or special event. You can vary the colors or styles of the ice sculptures to go with the theme of the party. Ice sculptures are easy to create because all that's needed are a couple of molds and a creative imagination. You can use various household objects to create ice sculptures that will impress your friends.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Wash the ice sculpture mold thoroughly. This will remove any dust particles that may have accumulated during storage or transport. Everything will show up and be magnified on the ice. You can use Jell-O molds or Bundt pans, for instance.

  2. Step 2

Set the mold in your freezer while it's empty. Balance it using the foam corner squares that come with the mold. Make sure there's enough room to be able to pour the liquid into it.

  3. Step 3

Pour the liquid into the mold. Only fill it up about ninety percent to allow the liquid to expand when it freezes into an ice sculpture.

  4. Step 4

Allow the ice sculpture to remain in the freezer for two days. This will allow ample time to freeze and set firmly before you remove it from the mold.

  5. Step 5

Put the mold upside down on the counter for a couple of minutes to allow it to melt slightly. It will slip out of the mold when it's ready to reveal the molded ice sculpture.

Tips & Warnings
  • Add food coloring or glitter to the water for a glamorous effect in the ice sculptures.
  • Use distilled water to make ice sculptures perfectly clear.
  • Never run the ice sculpture under warm water to remove it from the mold. This will result in cracking the sculpture.
