Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 57DD Breast
  • Platinum blonde wig
  • Fake nails
  • Tight, sequined clothes
  • High heels
  • A corset
  • Bright lipstick and heavy eye makeup
  • A charming Southern drawl
  1. Step 1

Go wig shopping. Dolly herself wears a variety of wigs for performing, Find something platinum blonde with big bangs. Look at pictures of Dolly for inspiration.

  2. Step 2

Put on a corset and pad your bra. Dolly Parton is known for her tiny waist and huge bosom. Be a convincing impersonator with an hour glass figure. Make your waist as small as possible, but don't cinch the corset too tight since you still need to breathe enough to sing. Buy the biggest bra you can find and add to your own assets to fill it up.

  3. Step 3

Slip into something a little more sequined. As a country musician, Dolly subscribes to the fringe and sparkles approach to fashion. She wears a variety of colors, so you won't be limited in that choice, though you should wear something low-cut and tight. Just make sure that there are enough sequins or beads on your outfit to catch the spotlight.

  4. Step 4

Apply a lot of makeup. Like everything she does, Dolly's makeup is big and exaggerated. Heavy eye shadow and mascara compliment bright lipstick when you impersonate Dolly.

  5. Step 5

Practice your vocal impression. Listen to recordings and interviews to become familiar with her Tennessee drawl and distinctive singing voice. Dolly has a lot of emotion in her inflection, whether it is cheerful sweetness or solemn melancholy. Incorporate that into your act.

Tips & Warnings
  • There's no need to bleach your hair and tease it within an inch of its life. Go to a wig shop instead of a costume store since your hairpiece should be very high quality.
