How to Sugar Wax Without Strips
Sugaring is a way to remove hair that is generally less painful than waxing. It contains no actual wax, but gets the name since it achieves the same goal as a wax. It is a cheap, easy way to remove hair without special strips or warmers. Like regular waxing, it works best with hair that is less than 1/4 inch long.
- Difficulty:
- Moderately Easy

1
Wash and dry your hands and the area to be waxed. Heat a bowl of water until it is hot but not boiling. Pour 1 to 3 inches of the hot water into a small bowl that can be safely handled while containing hot liquid.
-
2
Place the container of sugaring in the bowl. Do not immerse the container.
-
3
Leave the jar in the bowl of hot water for 5 to 7 minutes, but never more than 10. The sugar wax should be warm, but not hot when it's ready to be applied.
-
4
Remove a small amount of sugaring from the jar with your fingers. It should be thick, but flowing. Knead the sugaring between your fingers until the sugaring turns opaque.
-
5
Spread the sugaring across the wax area in the direction of the hair growth. Pull off quickly in the opposite direction. Repeat until all unwanted hair is gone.
