    Instructions

      • 1

Mix a small amount of grout. Start small until you're familiar with the grouting process. This will keep your waste to a minimum.

      • 2

Apply grout to the grouting float. Don't worry about the amount; a glob just smaller than the grouting float is all you'll need.

      • 3

Spread the grout on the tile using the grouting float. Work the grout into the spaces between the tiles.

      • 4

Remove the excess grout. Hold the grouting float at a 45-degree angle and drag it across the tile.

      • 5

Follow up with a damp sponge to clean the remaining grout off the tiles. Drag the sponge over the tiles at an angle to the tile joints. Don't try to get all of the grout off the tiles using the grouting float because you may cause damage.

      • 6

Give the grout a chance to dry. Stay off your newly tiled floor for about 24 hours after applying grout to ensure it sets.

    Tips & Warnings

    • Before starting to grout the tiles check the mortar thin set. It should be dry and hold the tiles in their proper positions.

    • Don't let your cleaning sponge get too wet. The water could react with the grout and ruin it.
