Things You'll Need:
- 1/2 oz. sap green clay
- 1/2 oz. pearl green clay
- 1/4 oz. black clay
- 1/4 oz. white clay
- 1/8 oz. cobalt blue clay
- 1/8 oz. cadmium yellow clay
- Paint brush with rounded handle end
- Christmas tree cookie cutter
- 5/8-inch star cutter
- Crafting knife
- Plastic wrap
- Dab Liquid Sculpey, translucent
-
Step 1
Roll together both colors of green clay until they are flat and wide enough for the Christmas tree cookie cutter. Use a pasta machine if you have one available to ease the process. Fold it in half after rolling to double the thickness.
-
Step 2
Cover the top of the clay mound with plastic wrap and use the cookie cutter to cut out a tree. Carefully remove the plastic wrap and your tree should have rounded edges.
-
Step 3
Score the tree using the crafting knife. Make a sweeping motion across the tree using gentle strokes.
-
Step 4
Add eyes if desired using the white clay rolled into two white balls. Add color to the eyes using the blue clay and top off with little black dots using the black balls.
-
Step 5
Flatten out the yellow clay. Cover with plastic wrap just like before and cut out with the star cookie cutter. Use the craft knife to accent the star any way you'd like to for added interest.
-
Step 6
Adhere the star to the top of the Christmas tree pin using the Translucent Liquid Sculpey. Be careful not to distort the pieces.
-
Step 7
Bake for 30 to 45 minutes with the oven at 275 degrees Fahrenheit. Let the Christmas tree cool then glue it to the back of the pin.
