Get a Santa suit and keep it on hand. Most available suits can be dry cleaned after the season, and they will be ready for the next year. It should last for years.

Let friends and family know you would like to play Santa and are available for upcoming parties and other events. Tell them how much you want to spread the joy of the season.

Accept the job of playing Santa for Christmas when it is offered. Find out the details of the party you will be attending.

Bone up on your reindeer knowledge. Arrive at the party (or other event) on time and in costume. You will need to make a soundless entrance. Ideally, party guests will only notice you are present when you want them to.

Keep yourself in the role by being a "jolly old elf." Include candy and some small toys in your bag to give to the children.

Pose for pictures with the children in attendance and stay for a few refreshments.

Make a silent exit. Everyone knows Santa has other places to visit.
