How to Make a Kermit the Frog Costume

1
Make the head. Cut out two cardboard circles, larger than the diameter of the google eyes. Cover both sides of each cardboard circle with green felt. These will be Kermit's eyes. Glue each google eye onto the green cardboard circles. Once the eyes are dry, attach each of them high up on the baseball cap.

2
Craft the collar. Kermit the Frog's light green collar goes right around the neck. Measure the diameter of the neck to get the right length dimensions. Cut a four inch wide band of light green felt the same length as the diameter of the neck measurement. Leave one of the long edges straight. Cut the other edge in a zig-zag fashion to mimic Kermit's collar. Attach a piece of double-sided tape or Velcro on each end of the collar.

3
Put together the suit. The body of the costume is as simple as putting on the green sweatshirt and sweatpants. Next, attach the ends of the collar to each other and make sure they're secure.

4
Paint the face. Cover the face and hands with light green face or body paint. An alternative to painting the hands is using green gloves.

5
Situate the hat. Once the face is painted and the suit is on, put on the hat. Tuck up any loose hair under the hat with pins, if necessary. Practice your Kermit the Frog voice, and the costume is complete.
