How to Create Greeting Cards in Microsoft Word

You do not need to buy any special software to create your own greeting cards. Microsoft Word gives you access to many greeting card templates that you can use immediately or modify to better fit your needs. Follow these steps to create your own greeting cards in Microsoft Word.

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Open Microsoft Word and use the "File-New" or "File-New from template" menu command to search for templates on Office Online. You can also go directly to Office Online through Microsoft's website.

  2. Step 2

    Click on the "Greeting cards" link in the Office Online browse section. Then click on the category that best fits the greeting card you need.

  3. Step 3

    Click on the card titles provided to see the greeting card template in more detail. When you find the perfect template click the "Download Now" button to download it to your computer.

  4. Step 4

    Access the greeting card template within Microsoft Word from the "File-New" dialog box.

  5. Step 5

    Type in your personal message in the provided section of the template and print.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can replace any picture in a greeting card template using your own image or Clip art.
  • As you use a greeting card template, make a note of the columns, rows and margins displayed in Microsoft Word. Use the features of Word to create your own greeting cards from scratch.
