How to Clean Doors, Door Handles and Door Frames

  • All-purpose Cleaners
  • Brass Polishes
  • Feather Dusters
  • Several Soft Rags
  • Sponges
  • Oil Soaps

Instructions

    • 1

      Wipe door frames and handles with a feather duster or soft rag to remove dust.

      Wipe the surface of a varnished wood door with a small amount of oil soap, using a soft rag. Be sure to wipe the door in the direction of the grain. Buff the door dry (again in the direction of the grain) with a clean dry rag.

      Apply all-purpose cleaner to painted doors with a sponge. Wipe the surface dry with a soft dry rag.

      Spray all-purpose cleaner onto a soft rag and gently rub the cleaner onto door handles. Wipe away excess cleaner with a dry rag.

      Apply a small amount of brass polish to brass handles and buff with a soft rag.

Tips & Warnings

  • You may want to wear gloves when cleaning.

  • When cleaning door frames, pay special attention to the top of the door frame and any crevices in the wood, where dust and dirt may collect.

  • Read oil soap instructions before use.
