Things You'll Need:
- Mason jar or other clear jar
- Ribbon and a personalized label
- Paper for description
- Items for the inside
-
Step 1
Scour the pantry for an empty jar. Base your decision on how much “stuff” you think you’ll be stuffing it with. See Step 2 for ideas. If you aren’t in the mood to eat peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (or pickles) for a month straight just to get an empty jar, order one online (see Resources below).
-
Step 2
Fill the jar with objects that represent the many ways you love your honey. Here’s some inspiration:
• Skittles: You are the gold at the end of my rainbow.
• Band-aid: Because I trust you to help heal all my wounds.
• Cotton balls: For how cozy and soft your skin feels against mine.
• Toothpick: I wouldn’t pick anyone else.
• Rubber band: For how flexible and understanding you are.
• Lucky penny: How lucky I was to find you.
• Mirror: Because you help me see the real me.
• Seeds: Because I look forward to growing old with you.
• Chapstick: For all the making-out we haven’t done yet.
• Popcorn kernels: For how often you pop into my mind.
• Polaroid of you laughing or with a huge smile: In case you need a reminder of how happy you make me. -
Step 3
Screw the cap on and lock the jar with glue (so it never comes open) and mark with sealing wax. You can order sealing wax online (see Resources).
-
Step 4
Decorate the jar with ribbon and a personalized label. Personalized labels can also be found online (see Resources).
-
Step 5
Dream up a note that includes a description of all the things in the jar. Write it on a scroll, roll it up and tie it to the jar with a ribbon.
