How to Move Photos From an iPod to a Computer

iPod videos let you store your personal photos on your iPod. You can transfer these images from your computer memory or your digital camera memory. To move photos from an iPod to a computer, follow these steps.

• Computer
• iPod

1. Turn on your computer. Close any applications that might slow the photo transfer.

2. Connect your iPod to your computer with the cord that came with your iPod. Make sure you have turned on the iPod.

3. Open iTunes. Wait for iTunes to register that your iPod is connected. If the screen does not register that a connection, disconnect the iPod and try again.

4. Click on the “Photos” tab below your iPod on iTunes. Look through the photos stored on your iPod.

5. Drag photos from the photos folder on your iPod to the desktop. You may also drag these pictures to a photo editing application, like Photoshop or Photosmart. Move any other images from your iPod to your computer.

Tips & Warnings

• To load these images, you must enable your iPod for disk use. Locate this option under "Edit," and then click "Preferences" on iTunes.
• If you have a Mac, use iPhoto to load photos stored on your iPod. Read the "Help" section of iPhoto for more information.
• Don't delete any images while moving them from your iPod to your computer. During this transfer you inadvertently can delete selected images them from your files.
