That siding isn't the right color? Paint it!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Make sure the house is clean before you start (see Related eHows).

  2. Step 2

Begin painting at the top and work your way down, painting two boards at a time.

  3. Step 3

Start in the middle and work your way out.

  4. Step 4

Paint the lower edges first, then the fronts of the boards.

  5. Step 5

As you reach the edges, whisk the brush off the edge to prevent stop marks.

  6. Step 6

Use a wide paintbrush to make the job easier.

Tips & Warnings
  • A paint roller can be used, but be mindful of bubbles.
  • There's no need to put down a coat of primer first.

on 11/22/2005 Don't paint the sides of the trim the same as the siding. Paint the side view of trim the same color as the trim face, thus giving the trim the depth it needs to make a visual impact. (It takes more time, but it's worth it.)
