How to Make Mini Industrial Pipe Shelves

Mini industrial shelves add interest and functionality to a small nook or corner. They can be used to display a small collection of items, books or plants. Easy and fast to assemble, these shelves can be stained or painted to coordinate with your decor, or you can use salvaged wood for a more rustic look.

Step 2

With a miter saw, cut both the sides and front of the wood at a 45-degree angle. The back of the wood, which will sit flush against the wall, will remain straight.

Step 6

Take your connected flange/elbow and screw it to the nipple connector on the shelf so that the flange is lined up with the back straight edge of the shelf. Paint or stain the shelf, if desired. Repeat the above steps if you're making more than one shelf.

Step 7

Measure the desired amount of space you'd like to have between the shelves. Mark the drill holes where the flange will connect to the wall. Be sure to use a level to ensure the shelves are straight before screwing the flanges into place with wall screws (use drywall anchors if needed).
