Blumotion drawers are set on a roller system so the drawers open and close smoothly with minimal noise. The advantage of this is that the drawers rarely get stuck and they are simple to install. However, the smoothness in opening sometimes works against you because the drawers may slide open when you don't want them to. Preventing the drawers from sliding in this way may require some modification to the roller system.
Things You'll Need
- Washcloths or rags
Adjust the dresser or cabinet so the front end tips upwards slightly. The tilt allows gravity to keep the drawers shut. If the dresser or cabinet has adjustable legs or feet, adjust them accordingly. Otherwise, place a folded washcloth or rag under both front corners to elevate them.
Take off the drawers so you have access to the roller system. The drawer usually pops out of the frame once it is fully extended from the dresser or cabinet.
Tap the brackets that the rollers slide into gently with a mallet to add a small dent to each side. The dent will hold the roller in place so it doesn't go past without being pulled out.
Replace the drawer into the frame.
