A reputable vendor will have properly treated airbrushed shirts to maintain the integrity of the paint as much as possible. Once home, preserve your airbrushed shirt by washing it as little as possible. Cotton shirts pill with frequent washing, giving the appearance of fading. When the airbrushed shirt becomes too dirty to wear without washing, hand wash the shirt to reduce wear on fabric and prevent cracking and fading of paint.
Step 1
Turn the shirt inside out.

Step 2
Hand wash in room temperature water using a mild detergent. Press the shirt into the water and lightly agitate the shirt. Do not scrub.
Step 3
Rinse the shirt thoroughly in clear water.
Step 4
Press the shirt between two clean towels to remove excess water.
Step 5
Hang the shirt to dry. Do not place in a dryer. The heat and agitation will cause the paint to fade
Tip
Whenever possible, ask the vendor ask the vendor if he has particular washing instructions. Because the type of pre-treating, paint and post-treatment vary from vendor to vendor, the person selling the shirt will know best how to wash his designs.
