How to Convert ECW Maps to OZF Maps


The ozf map file format is associated with the OziExplorer, which is a mapping device developed primarily for personal digital assistants (PDA) and mobile devices. The ecw file format is an image file that allows for other data to be encoded with it. One of the purposes of the ecw format is to be used for maps. Therefore, if you want to use ecw maps with OziExplorer, you must convert the file types. The OziExplorer includes an image converter capable of converting ecw files, so you do not need any additional third-party software.

  • Open IMG2OZF on a computer.

  • Click the folder icon next to "Source." Locate and select the import ecw file.

  • Click the folder icon next to the "Destination Folder" if you want to change the export folder, and designate a save folder.

  • Click "Convert Maps" to convert the files.
