How to Make a Triangle in Illustrator CS5
Several types of triangles can be drawn in Adobe Illustrator CS5. These types include acute, right or obtuse triangles that you incorporate into a logo or illustration project. Since all triangles have three sides, the number of equal sides a triangle features makes it distinct -- so modify the sides of a triangle to create an isosceles or scalene triangle. You can make any triangle imaginable after you learn how to draw a perfect one.

1
Select the Star tool and click within the canvas area. The place you click should be a suitable location for an equilateral, or perfect triangle.
-
2
Enter values into the Radius 1 and Radius 2 fields of the Star dialog box. One of the values must represent half of the other value. For example, specify 25 pixels in the Radius 1 field and 50 pixels in the Radius 2 field.

-
3
Type "3" into Star dialog box's Points field, and click "OK."
-
4
Choose the Delete Anchor Point tool and use it to remove unnecessary anchor points. You should end up with a triangle that contains only three anchor points.
-
5
Activate the Selection tool and click on the triangle. Move the pointer to a corner of the bounding box until a rotation cursor appears. Rotate the triangle into any suitable position.
-
6
Modify the points or straight segments of the triangle with the Direct Selection tool. Change the length of any of the triangle's sides to create other types of triangles according to your needs. Hold the "Shift" key as you modify the triangle's line segments, if necessary.
