How to Remove the Hose From a Dirt Devil Featherlite

Save

If you notice a suction problem with your upright Dirt Devil Featherlite vacuum cleaner, you may have to remove the hose to check for a blockage. A blocked hose may result in dirt being left on your carpet even after you've gone over the spot several times. The vacuum may also sound differently than when it's working normally. To remove the hose of the Dirt Devil Featherlite for any reason, reverse the steps you followed to attach it during assembly.

  • Push back on the dirt window flap located where the hose attaches to the vacuum at the bottom.

  • Push in on the cuff of the lower hose and twist it counterclockwise to unlock the hose. Pull the bottom of the hose straight off.

  • Pull the long, middle part of the hose out of the two clips on the side of the vacuum cleaner.

  • Pull the top part of the hose up and off the storage hook, and then pull the curved end out from the back of the unit, to completely remove the hose.
