Skateboards, which are typically made from several sheets of wood glued and pressed together, are usually sold with some form of artwork on the bottom of the skateboard deck. There is a wide variety of artwork to be had, which can vary in quality depending on the manufacturer. Buying new skateboards will give you undamaged art, but using a used skateboard may add more character to the piece, and the choice is largely an aesthetic one. Does this Spark an idea?
Choose a place where you want to hang the skateboard decks. Most skateboard art is oriented so that the board should be hung vertically, but your skateboard may differ. You can hang a skateboard deck anywhere that you might hang a painting. You might also consider hanging several skateboard decks side by side.
Remove the trucks from the skateboard if it has them. If you bought a skateboard deck to use as art, then you shouldn't have this problem.
Insert two bolts into the truck holes so that the bolts stick out on the side with the grip tape. If you're hanging the decks vertically, then the two bolts will go into the two uppermost truck holes. If you're hanging the decks horizontally, the two bolts will go in the two uppermost and outermost truck holes.
Thread the nuts onto both bolts, but don't tighten the nuts all the way.
Cut a length of fishing line or similar wire long enough that you will be able to tie it between the two bolts with only a small amount of slack.
Tie either end of the fishing line to the bolts between the nut and the skateboard. Use the scissors to cut any excess fishing line away.
Tighten the nut on the bolt all the way down.
Use the hammer and nail to create a hanging mount for your skateboard. You could also use a picture mount if you feel more comfortable with that. Hang the skateboard on the mount, and make sure that it's hung straight.
