How to Make Striped Triangle Friendship Bracelets
Striped triangle bracelets are also known as chevron friendship bracelets. You can make one with embroidery thread in one or many colors, and it is as simple as tying overhand knots. The specific order of the knots you use determines the resulting pattern. When made with several colors, the bracelets are vibrant and eye catching. Friendship bracelets are especially popular among children and teenagers, but anyone can wear one, or you can make them as gifts.

1
Bundle the four strands of thread together and then fold the bundle in half, so that there are two 3-foot strands of each color. Tie the loop in an overhand knot.
-
2
Arrange the threads so that from left to right, they are in this order: Color A, Color B, Color C, Color D, Color D, Color C, Color B, Color A. If they don't stay in place at first, it is okay. Secure the loop by either putting it under the clip part of a clipboard, pinning it to something with a pushpin or wrapping the loop around one of your big toes.

3
Tie the leftmost strand of Color A in two consecutive overhand knots around the Color B strand next to it. Tie the leftmost strand of Color D in two consecutive overhand knots around the Color C strand next to it. Repeat these knots, going in the opposite direction from the right side (Color A over Color B, and Color D over Color C).
-
4
Confirm that the order of the knots is now Color B, Color A, Color D, Color C, Color C, Color D, Color A, Color B. Tie the leftmost Color A over the Color D strand next to it twice, and tie the left Color C over the right Color C twice. Tie the rightmost color A over the Color D strand next to it twice.
-
5
Confirm that the order of the knots is now Color B, Color D, Color A, Color C, Color C, Color A, Color D, Color B. Tie the leftmost Color B twice over Color D, and tie the leftmost Color Color A over Color C twice. Repeat from the opposite side.
-
6
Tie the left Color B over the left Color C twice, and do the same on the right side. Tie the left Color A twice over the right Color A. The order of strings should now be the reverse of what it was in the beginning: Color D, Color C, Color B, Color A, Color A, Color B, Color C, Color D.
-
7
Repeat the above steps until the bracelet is almost long enough to wrap around your wrist, but pay more attention to the location of the strings than the color. For example, when you first repeat the pattern, Color D will be where Color A was when you started the bracelet. Therefore, use Color D in the place of Color A for the first repeat.

Tie the loose strands around the loop to make a secure knot. Trim the excess of yarn.

Tips & Warnings
Tighten each knot after you make it.
You do not have to make the bracelet in four colors. You can make it in one color, or any other number of colors you want. The more strings you use, the wider the bracelet will be. The pattern will be modified depending on what number of colors you choose, but the goal is to bring the outer colors into the center with each knot you make.
If you prefer a removable bracelet, tie the loose strands around a metal clasp, and secure the clasp to the loop to close the bracelet.
You can also turn the project into an anklet by making the pattern long enough to wrap around your ankle.
Do not make the loop at the top of the project too large, or it will take up too much space on your wrist.
