How to Replace the Filter on the GE Under-sink Filtration

Water filtration systems by GE come in a wide range of models, including under-sink reverse osmosis systems. The under-sink units use replaceable filters that keep debris and large particles out of the water. A clogged filter can reduce water flow and impair the filtration system's ability to clean the water properly. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Turn off the water supply line leading to the filtration system.

    • 2

Turn on the GE filtration system water faucet to drain the tank. Turn off the faucet when the tank is empty.

    • 3

Twist the filter compartment to the left to disconnect it.

    • 4

Empty the water from the compartment. Pull the old filter out of the filter compartment.

    • 5

Insert the new filter into the cartridge.

    • 6

Position the filter compartment onto the filtration system. Twist the compartment to the right. The cartridge moves up as it is tightened.

    • 7

Turn the water supply leading to the system on. The tank takes up to four hours to refill.
