How to Journal Scenery in a Scrapbook
If you are planning a vacation with interesting scenery, such as a road trip or cruise, you can bring along supplies that will help you journal everything you see and experience. To have a long-lasting memory of the scenery, take those pictures and notes and put them in a scrapbook that you may look back on and share your experience with others. You can use a high-quality digital camera or an inexpensive disposable camera to capture your memories.

1
Gather the supplies you will need for your photo journal and be sure to pack them on your trip or excursion. Include a camera with a memory card and extra batteries or several disposable cameras, one or two journals, pens for writing about the scenery and colored pencils if you also plan to do illustrations on your journal pages.
-
2
Take as many photos as you can when you are in a scenic area that you find interesting. Mix up the types of scenery photos you take such as close-up, from a distance and panorama photos if your camera allows this option. For close-up photos such as insects or flowers, use the macro setting on your digital camera for the best quality.

3
Make notes in your journal every time you take photos of scenery, with the location, date, time and other details you will want to include later on in your scrapbook. You may also want to make illustrations next to these notes to be included or reference later.
-
4
Pick up items while on your excursions to include in your scrapbook such as flowers, leaves or twigs. Tape these to pages of your journal and make a note of where you found them. For instance, if you found a particularly interesting tree while on a hike, take a picture of the tree and look around on the ground for fallen twigs or leaves; tape these to your journal, making a note about the tree and location.

5
Print your photos after you return home from your trip either on your computer using photo paper or at a local printing store. Choose the order in which you want to include them, such as in chronological order or by the category, such as location or type of scenery.
-
6
Choose a scrapbook for your scenery journal scrapbook and place your photographs on the pages in the order you have chosen. Include the actual journal entries next to the photos, or merely use them as a guide and write notes on the scrapbook pages. Add any items you picked up, scrapbook embellishments, templates or other decorative items.
